Croup:

A respiratory condition that is usually triggered by an acute viral infection of the upper airway. The infection leads to swelling inside the throat, which interferes with normal breathing and produces the classical symptoms of a "barking." It may produce mild, moderate, or severe symptoms, which often worsen at night.

Just got a call from my son's teacher. Not great news. They're pretty sure he's got "the Croup" (dun dun dunnnn!) The nurse checked and he doesnt have a fever so they're not sending him home (thank GOD!) They said they'll be watching him closely all day and that I should probably make an appointment w/ his doctor. I seriously hope my Little Man isnt getting sick :(
